As you can see, I have been quite busy working on Halloween & Christmas orders and filling my Etsy shop. I’m working at my regular job More this year than I was last year, and it has decreased my work time for my shop. So has having a toddler in the house! But I am working furiously to fill orders and fill my shop for the Christmas shopping season.
A couple months ago I took a new direction with thefocus of my shop and with my social media. It’s been more work, but I’m also having a bit more fun with it.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive. (Howard Thurman)
I read this quote in my morning bible devotion recently and it really stuck out to me. I have known for some time now that God has given me or allowed me to acquire a variety of talents and skills. I’m still working towards finding what He wants me to do with them, but I love this quote because I think so often that we seek to create things that we think the buyers want or what seems to be trending, without much consideration of what we’re passionate about or enjoy doing.
Well, let me tell you something… since I have started creating things that I thought was fun or unique or challenging, I have actually had an increase in engagement and sales. That’s not a guarantee that it will work that way for you, but I do guarantee that you will be happier and happiness is contagious. And customers would much rather buy from a happy seller than one who is an obvious, crowd following grouch. So make what makes you alive!
Alright! Well, it’s back to work for me! Have a great day!
