Let me just tell you how amazing this stuff is! I got to try out 4 lovely colors of this thread: Lichen, Hollyberry, Ash, and Sagebrush. When I opened the box, I was floored at how vibrant, rich, and lustrous this thread was. Absolutely stunning!!

I could hardly wait to play with it! Allyson from Holla Knits wanted me to work up some of my earrings and rings for her with the Curio, so I got right on that! These are a few of the photos Allyson sent me from the photoshoot with the new pieces I sent her.

Is that lovely or what?!

Curio is a brand new, cotton crochet thread by Knit Picks. Up until now, I have been an Aunt Lydia’s Thread girl, but now I’m hooked on Curio! They don’t have your traditional, basic colors. These are colors I have never seen in a thread before. They are gorgeous! This thread would be beautiful for crocheted jewelry, doilies & coasters, knitted lacework… So many possibilities!! And it’s so shiny!!!

I think it’s just a teensy bit thicker than Aunt Lydia’s, but it shouldn’t change your pattern significantly. Because of the lovely sheen of this thread, the stitches are showcased beautifully. I just can’t get over how rich the colors are! You really just need to try it for yourself!

Here’s the fun part…

You get to!! For FREE!!

Knit Picks is giving one lucky winner 2 – did you see that? TWO!! – balls of Curio to work up my pattern with!!! Oh!! AND that lucky winner will also receive my pattern for free!

To enter, leave a comment saying what you would love to make with this new thread! For extra entries, tweet the giveaway, share on Facebook, “like” my Facebook page, etc. It’s all in the box. I use Rafflecopter because it does the work for me and makes it all easier to keep track of.

Be sure to check out this beautiful Curio thread line! And my pattern is now available on Knit Picks’ website too! You can purchase the pattern and the thread all in one place!!

Good luck!!!

woops, and as for the yarn, I love making small pouches for my daughters dolls. Purses, fairy bags for their “houses”, and wee things like that for her. This seems like it would work much better than the splitty cotton I've been using. I myself am a fan of the ciel and ash, but she'd probably pick out the tearose and comfry 🙂

Hmm..I normally use this type of yarn to make lace shawls, but I love the earrings & ring. So I would be making that. I think Ash & Hollyberry are the best.

I love crafting filet crochet pieces, but white gets so boring after a while. I'm excited about all the new color possibilities! I have a favorite pattern for a Thanksgiving-themed place mat, it would be gorgeous in autumn colors!

Ooh, I'm thinking a lacy top–something blousy with big drop sleeves and maybe a belt to cinch it. *plots*

I love the ruby and blue colours. I think they'd look awesome with your patterns, or possibly tatted into a table runner.

I am a new crocheter, and I'm practicing with granny squares, so I'm sure I would make those. I LOVE that ring and the earrings!

The Chocolate and Comfrey would make a delightful color combination, but there are so many great colors, it was hard to pick just 2! Your ring is super adorable, and I'm thinking about making a cuff to match!

I would definatly love to try my hand at a few jewelry pieces. But I can honestly say picking colors would be harder than a pattern! I love them all.

If I could have an unlimited amount of this thread (Oh, I wish!)I would probably knit my first shawl. I am always so impressed by all the lace shawls out there. Or, I would knit some jewelry, or learn to crochet so I can crochet your pattern! Oh, and I would maybe make a headband for my cute little sis who is OBSESSED with headbands! (So much planning, so little time, so little yarn!)

My two favorite colors are Sagebrush and Ivy, though I think they should come out with some sort of plum purple. 🙂
